4th of July BBQ Card

I decided to make another card for the Red, White and Blue Challenge at A La Card Monkey. With the 4th of July coming up this weekend, BBQ's are the most common thing we all do.

I used my retired Red Corduroy buttons, and Star brad. I also used the Zig Silver pen on the wheels and steam vent.
This is the sketch from the Challenge.

I love making these little flags on cards, I used the 7/8 in square punch at the end to make the flag tip.

I can't believe my Camera can take such a good close up.

Artistic Etchings Earrings

I was in the local "Staples Store" and found these cute little paper clips. I thought that they would make cute earrings. I love the stamp set Artistic Etchings and knew that it also would make cute earring so I put the two together and here is what I got.

I used the Stampin Up Poly Shrink for the crowns, it is now retired.

How Cute!!

The Poly Shrink stuff is so cool you can stamp on it, color on it and then use your heat gun to shrink it.

I like to call it "Shrinky Dink".

Red, White and Blue Monkey Challenge

I don't have any 4th of July Stamps, I was sitting and  thinking in my Stamp room "what can be red, white and blue" A Cowboy... how American is that!? I used 6 different stamp sets to make this card, that is a lot I try not to do that most of the time. One reason is because I am messy stamper, my desk is always a big mess and the more stamp set the bigger the mess. lol

I used Riding hood red and Pacific point for my colors.
This is the sketch that we are using at A La Card Monkey this week. Please come by and check out all the cards for this challenge. OH and how about this idea... Make a card with us!! lol

The Sheriff stamp is really my son's stamp.

Birthday Card for a Friend

My Son and my Best Bud Terry Su have the same Birthday, is that weird or what. This is the birthday card I gave to Terry for her Birthday. Its not as exciting as some of the cards I make but I had just finished it the day before so I thought it would be a good one.... But you see it was a card from a SAS that she had done and I did not make it at her studio I just took the parts home and changed it and added some bling. She just laughed and said "hey I know this Card".

I used the sponge dauber a lot on this card, I just love the look of it.
I still have to make her another card with Current SU Stuff... or I am in Trouble!! lol

You can see the bling I added to the candles so it looks like they are lit.

One of my favorite things is to tie lots of extra ribbon onto the main piece of ribbon. My friend Kim started calling it the "Shirley Technique" or what she really said is "Blame it on Shirley" lol

This is my Son Levi, I had just said "look happy because you got a Scooter for your Birthday!!!" lol and look how happy he is. In the picture with him is Connor on the left and my younger son Calvin on the right, a bunch of very Happy Boys!

This weekend is going to be a fun one. At A La Card Monkey we are doing Girly Girl Cards. I am truly a Girly Girl, I don't go anywhere with out my make up on, I can't stop buying shoes and earrings and so on. Maybe I should share some pic's of my shoes, I have some really really cute shoes.

A cute purse to match the Dress, I have way to many purses too! lol I used a sponge dauber on the edges first I used pink then red.

I did not follow the sketch exactly, but it is close.

Always in Style! This is from an old stamp set called "Pattern of Friendship"

Some really big Bling that I found at Micheal's called Jolee's Bling, it also comes in Pink.

I even made a little necklace for the dress.

I wish Stampin Up would not have stopped putting the date on the boxes of when a stamp set came out, it is so much harder to find the Catalog they were in now!!! Darn them!

Now swing by Terry Su's Blog and check out her card on your way to A La Card Monkey!

Monkey Challenge Card "Orange you Cute"

I thought that I would get out a stamp set that is retiring. I have always liked this set, but when it no longer had the paper to go with it, I just did not use it anymore. So I found the old paper "Summer Picnic", do you remember that paper it had that really cute Cherry paper, loved  it!

The Pumpkin pie ribbon is on the Clearance rack right now, but all the other ribbons will be in the New Catalog.

This week at A La Card Monkey we are doing a sketch with any theme you want.

I just love that jewelry punch, I used it to make these extended tags. I also used a small square punch to make the flag tip end.

Go by Terry Su's blog and she what she came up with on this sketch.

Unfrogettable Frog Card, Have a "Good Year"

I just love this old stamp set "Unfrogettable". "What is so great about this old set" you say...  it's all the stuff in it!  2 frog stamps, mushroom, dragon fly, snail, flower, crown that fits on the little frogs, and the words "sorry i frogot!", "have i toad you lately that i love you?", "hoppy birthday!" and "you're unfrogettable".  Now you know why I love it so much. I made this card a long time ago for a Make and Take. It was a big hit, but it was a lot of work making it. So I was happy as a frog when I found a packet of cards never finished in a box when I was cleaning my old stamp room.

It is kind of hard to see but, I used an Aqua painter on the white card stock brushing on Bashful blue ink to make it look like sky.

I got the idea a long time ago from a card I seen on SCS, they had put the frog in a tire swing. I seen that and thought that I would add the saying "good year" to the side for a cool Happy New Year Card, it would even make a great Birthday Card.

My two boys out in the bay by the Marina having fun.

Stamp sets:
Unfrogetable
Daisy field wheel
Just Beakause
Classic Alphabet
Ink and Card Stock Colors:
White, Bashful blue, Black, Always artichoke, Mellow moss
Accessories:
Hemp twine, Circle punch 1 1/4th, Aqua painter, SU Markers.

Girly Weekend with Deanna Day 1 5/19/2011

Deanna and I have been friends since the 7th Grade, my Son Levi is now in the 7th Grade and he is 12 (turning 13 this week). That is a long time to be friends!! She now lives Everett Washington that is a Ferry ride to my house, so when she comes over she take the boat and I pick her up. This week she is staying 4 Days!! We are Super Excited! (this is the same week Terry is on the SU Cruise) I picked her up and the we decide to do some shopping because we want to spend most of our time Stamping! First place was Micheal's and this is what we got.

Some K&Company Scrapbooking supplies.

This is some of the little extras we picked up to go with the paper.
I found some cool Stars for my 4th of July tree, I have already did my post about my Tree. Click Here to see the Post.
And this is one of the new Border Punches we got "Rick Rack". When you punch this one out it looks just like the real stuff.... I love it!!

We found these cool cookie cutters at Micheal's too. They are a flip flop, Margarita glass and Sunglasses. Summer Fun Cookie Cutters!!!

Here they are cooling on the rack, with Perfect Color!

This is some of the stuff we got to use on the Cookies.

Here is Deanna making a Butterfly cookie, She did all her Cookies in Pink and White ONLY!

Here are some of the Cookies... Deanna said, "what is wrong with this picture"!! It was me putting a Butterfly with Purple in with all her Pink and White Cookies!

Amber came over and she decorated some cookies too, she used a lot of Purple! Her Margarita glasses were really cute! She also made a bunch of cards, but I did not get any pictures of them.

This is one of the cards I made that night. I just love all the Coffee stamps. The Stamp set I used is called "What's Brewin" its an oldie but goodie!! I think it is from the 1999 SU Catalog.

This is another Coffee Card I made, I had made this for a make and take to a friends house and I had cut some extra for myself to sell at my booth at Viking Village.
Stamp sets:
What's Brewin' 9pc set 1999
Ink and Paper Colors:
Pretty in pink, Chocolate chip, Vanilla.
Accessories:
Sponge dauber, rhinestones, jewelry tag punch, 5/8 chocolate chip ribbon,
Scallop border punch.
Designer Series Paper:
Sending Love Specialty Occasions mini 2010

This is a Card Deanna made using that K&Company Paper we just bought. And she also used the new "rick rack" punch, Jewelry tag punch, 1/8 Daffodil ribbon, polka dot embossing folder, the paper is chocolate chip and so saffron.
She used the same colors on this card but used the stamp set "Word Play". The "fleur-de-lis" border punch on the bottom is the other new punch we got at Micheal's they were 40% off I think we only paid $7.00 for it. The flower is from K&Company Susan Winget adhesions. The ribbon is So Saffron 5/8". We also used the big shot 4 inch and 3 1/2 inch circles and the polka dot embossing folder.

Deanna and Amber havin' a good time!

Thanks for coming by!
