Going Places Tug Boat and Bus Cards for A La Card Monkey Challenge "Something Blue"

Hi Everyone!!!

I made a few cards this week for the A La Card Monkey Challenge. I just loved it so much that I wanted to make it in different colors. I also had a Card Class today and let everyone chose what card they wanted to make.

The stamp set is called "Going Places" from 2000.
This is the card I made for the "Something Blue" challenge. I used the clouds for my circle elements. I made them with the cupcake punch. I used the In-Color paper pack for this card.

Take the Something Blue Challenge!!

This is the card we did in the class today. I used the "Play Date" DSP. I dug out some old Corduroy buttons, I have not used them in years.

Most of us girls at the event have Girl bus drivers for our kids. So I thought this would be a good Bus Driver Card. This card also uses the "Play Date" DSP.

House of Haunts Card for 411 Sketch Challenge #252

Hi Everyone!
I wanted to make a card with one of the Halloween stamp sets that are retiring on May 31st from Stampin' Up. I am doing a Pizza - Retiring Stamp Party this Saturday. We will be doing six cards and two of them are going to be with Halloween sets. This is one of the cards.

I love Halloween!! It is hard to see but, the paper has bats on it. I am sad to see this Owl stamp go but, I am SUPER EXCITED for the new Catalog!!!

When I seen this sketch I just had to play along! I seen those three buttons on the side of the card and thought of Bats with silver moons instantly. This was a fun card to do.

I thought that it would be cool to embossing the bats with the "Spider web" embossing folder. I used Silver Glimmer paper behind the bats to give them a "Bling Factor".

I changed my mind on where to put the words a few times but, I liked it best at the bottom of the card.

Stamp Sets:
House of Haunts 4pc set 2011-2012 Catalog (retiring May 31st 2012)
Grateful Greetings 12pc set 2011-2012 Catalog (retiring May 31st 2012)
Ink and Paper Colors:
Cherry Cobbler, White, Black, Cajun Craze
Accessories:
Sponge dauber, Black Rhinestones, Cherry Cobbler seam binding ribbon, Bat Punch, Silver glitter paper, 3/4 inch circle punch.
Designer Series Paper:

Rue Des Fleurs aka Street of Flowers Card for The Paper Players Sketch

Hi Everyone!!

It has been two Beautiful days here so far, and I have been working in my yard pulling grass out of my flower beds. My yard needs so much work because I end up making a cards instead (so trying to work is more like it).
I just had to get out my Attic Boutique Side Notes today. I have always loved them but, never think of a good idea to use them. One of my Blogging friends Elizabeth Price makes the most Beautiful Vintage looking cards with them so I was inspired by her to start using mine.

I used two pieces of the side notes, one is the ticket and the other is the blue ribbon shape under the button.

Over at Paper Players Nance is our Hostess and we are doing a really cool sketch. I love sketches that have a spot for "any shape" then you get to add lots of cute little goodies.

I used the Jewelry tag punch for the sentiment.

I made the shape smaller then the umbrella so that it went off the edges. I stamped it in the three colors and just cut out the two tops of the umbrella .

Dinoroar Kids Birthday Card for Paper Players Watercolor Challenge

Hi Blogging Friends!!

I stayed up tonight to take a look at the Retired list that went up 11:00pm my time. Wow that is one long list of things I love but, this Dinoroar stamp set was not on the list. Yeah! I am kind of happy to see some of the stamp sets go because, the new stuff is going to be "FABULOUS"!!! (in a high pitched singing voice)

I sat down and drew out this sketch just for this card. The color combo of Pool Party and Soft Suede is perfect for the Dino, I just love his tummy the Pool Party color. I used the ink pads and an aqua painter for my watercoloring. The stamp set comes with a really nice grass stamp, it looks hand painted that is what I love about it. I had to use some glimmer paper because, kids love it!.

This is week three of my Guest Designer spot, only two more left. (insert sad face) I have been having a really great time joining the gals. Jaydee is our Hostess this week, thanks girl for this challenging challenge!!
I can't say it enough, "go to your craft room or your crafty space and make a card to join us!!"

I used a 1 1/4 circle punch to put the glimmer paper inside the button with an antique brad.

I knew I wanted to spell out the word "Dino" with my Scrabble tiles when I bought them. I was trying to think of short words that would be great for cards.

Just in case you did not see the first time, this is 3 boxes of Scrabble tiles that I found at a junk store. I think I paid around $10.00 or less for all three games.

Accessories:
Sponge dauber, Aqua Painter, 1/4 circle punch, Spice Cake button, Silver glimmer paper, Antique brad,

Cupcake Challenge at A La Card Monkey

Hi Everybody!!

It's a Beautiful day today, it started with a Sunrise that made the Olympic Mountains look pink (pictures below). I used the cupcake punch and the DSP flirtatious for the fun card.

I cut out one of the dollies out of the DSP and used it behind the main image.

It's all about Cupcakes this week!!!. I can't even believe how popular Cupcakes are, with shows like "Cupcake Wars" taking over the food channel. Plus all the Cupcake shops, and I did a craft show and the girl with the Cupcakes was the busiest person there.

I punched out the cupcake bottom twice and used a dimensional between the two to give it a more 3D look.

Close up of the Olympics from my home, I took this picture today.
